According to the Travel Channel, Las Vegas just keeps getting more popular every year. I don't think long lines should be a big surprise.

I guess they figure, if people are stupid enough to gamble their money away (often because the idiot box told them it was really fun and popular with singles, couples and families), they're stupid enough to stand in line for almost an hour.
