Avoid Caesars Palace Las Vegas

I just came back from a convention at Caesars. I am amazed that this hotel markets itself as treating ALL hotel guests as if they were Emperor Caesar himself.

Right from the beginning, my experience was such that I am determined to expose them right here on the internet.

First of all, I waited over 55 minutes on line to check in. When I finally got to the desk (around 5pm) the lady behind the counter said that my room would not be ready for several hours, even though check in began at 3pm. Secondly, she said that the hotel was unable to store my luggage. I was finally able to get a key to my room by 7:15pm. What was that all about?

My first night was fine. The second and third nights, I was awoken at 6am by jackhammers. Caeasars is building a wing of 900 rooms. When I called to ask them to stop, the front manager said, most callously, absolutely not.

This is not the first hotel I've stayed in in which there has been construction. When I've stayed at Starwood hotels, for example, they ask the workers to stop until 9am.

At Caesars, 6am is the time they begin no matter who they awaken. They said that I could move if I were willing to wait in the room between 3pm-7pm for arrangements to be made. Were they kidding? They said literally "Take it or leave it, sugar".

I'm not asking to be treated like one of those high rollers, but I did spend quite a bit of money gambling and this is the way they treat me???

When you spend money on a hotel room, you expect to be able to sleep. Isn't this the purpose? Caesars did not see it that way. They then offered me a coupon for the buffet as a way of making it up to me. How patronizing.

With all the choices of hotels in Vegas, they royally blew it. Never again.
