I read an entry from 2005 in this forum regarding ANA being lax with transferring between AMC accounts.

Here is the situation:

Moved 100k for both me and my domestic partner of 2 years from my AMEX MR account. Of course, can't book for him since we are not married.

With that being said I have a request pending with ANA for moving 50k points to his AMC account.

Has anyone had luck with such requests? They said they will make their decision before Friday, so it seems they are willing to consider it since I did not get a flat out no. He also made it seem like the request is not inclined to be approved since the points originated from a AMEX MR account.

Thoughts?
