I had this happen just last week at Kroger.
I swiped a $500 OV card.... and it got declined. Told to try again. No luck.
I finished my transactions with four other cards with no problem.
Came home and went online.... sure enough it showed the card was drained when I swiped it. I called the OV help desk... they saw the initial decline... but then said the Kroger system accepted the second swipe even though it did not register at the store.
She said it would take 3 - 5 days for the store to balance out and the money to show back up.... sure enough... 3 days later it was back on my card.

I have a Stop and Shop that I have consistently used to convert OVGC into WU money orders. Yesterday I went in and the cashier told me that her screen said to "contact issuer" and she could not process the transaction. I called OV and the automated teller told me that my balance was zero and that 476.00 had been debited from my account. I looked online (I was still at the S&S using my smart phone) and it showed a debit for the 476.00 at the S&S as of 10 minutes ago and the next line down read INCOMM credit 476.00. I then spoke to a rep at the OVGC and asked what the problem was. He asked what I was purchasing and I said a MO. I HOPE THIS WASN'T A BIG MISTAKE. Anyway he said that those types of purchases weren't typically allowed and that I should go back to the S&S cashier and get the receipt from my non-transaction. In fact there was a receipt and it said transaction voided. The OVGC rep told me that my account would be credited the 476.00 in approximately eight days. I hope this is not a chain wide policy whereby S&S purchases of WU money orders can no longer be processed. I am going to try another S&S in my area for a smaller amount and see what happens. I live in Connecticut and would be interested to know if anyone has had the same problem. Best of luck to all. And should this happen make sure to get your "voided transaction" receipt from the S&S cashier.
