Day Trip from Kyoto: Kanazawa via Takayama
We have a JR Pass and will be spending 5 nights in Kyoto at the Westin (award nights) in mid November. We are looking at doing a long day trip to Kanazawa and was wondering it it would be worth it to take the Wide View Hida train (via Takayama) on the way up to Kanazawa. It would be a 5 hour ride (vs 2 on the Thunderbird, Kyoto - Kanazawa). We were not sure how scenic the Wide View Hida route would be. Thanks for any feedback!!
