I don't see this being an issue at all. According to the link in the OP's post the CX service will simply be replaced by a second QR service (as used to be the case):
DOH-HKG QR640 0150 1425
DOH-HKG QR816 0750 2050
HKG-DOH QR815 0120 0520
HKG-DOH QR645 1830 2325
The only downside for me is that all QR flights are showing as A332-operated.
