we (Gisela and I) only know Vail in winter.

The Lodge at Vail (where 'it all started'), at the base of the lifts in central Vail, offers a great (but expensive) dinner place at the 'Wildflower' (modern, with a french touch) and on the same level is Mickey's bar with owner/piano-player Mickey Poage - ask him to play 'the last run' a tune he created for the world downhill ski championships).
