I am a lifetime ardent antismoker, and a while ago anti-tobacco activist. The world has improved a lot in the last 2 decades and smoking bans are everywhere and mostly implemented (China is a different issue but they don't smoke in aircraft or fast trains, haven't been on a slow chain for a while, or the metro systems. Smoking in elevators is still prevalent and I tell them off just like I did in the past in western scenarios)

I think eCigs is a huge leap forward for the bettery. I allow one of my engineers to vape in the office for example (as long as he keeps coming up with great solutions of course ;-)

My point it would be nice if there were a way to let people have a vape on longhaul flights as part of a process of removing tobacco from the world... agree its not easy to find a way and certainly should not be an airline priority....
