On the surface it seems illogical to push ahead with a proposal that saves £3m when IA will cost more than that. £3m is barely an extra 50p on every passenger's ticket too.
Who says the saving are only £3M?
No-one has yet answered my question as to whether the impacted staff are on final salary pensions. If so, the additional savings in BA's pensions contributions and reduced liability could be significant.
