Hi Guys,

I have 150,000 Amex MR rewards points and 10,000 Avios atm.

After spending the last 2 hours trying to find the cheapest way and most efficient routing (including consulting with the wife) to Tokyo i have come up with the following.

(My dates are fully flexible)

12/09 outbound LHR to NRT
19/09 inbound NRT to LHR all for 144000 avios using UUA from WT+ to J. Total taxes £2,642.52

My question to all the experts on here is, is this the most 'sensible' way to spend my amex points and avios pile?

I've looked at the recent Qatar sale (thanks to Raffles) from EDI via DOH to Singapore. Then thought i could use avios to Tokyo but the maths just doesn't add up.

Any wise suggestions would be much appreciated!
