It is truly crazy....When we were booking LAS to MEL (LAS to SFO to AKL to MEL) I tried and tried to get a straight answer from people at both airlines and never did. The reality is UA's LAS to LAX to MEL booking was just too expensive for a coach flight and the E+ option is not worth it for us so we booked PE on ANZ from SFO to MEL and we HOPE we will get credit. If we don't, we don't. We will be flying in comfort and that is more important right now. Oh, LAS to SFO was booked with UA so I know we will get those miles and I needed those PQD's for myself.

Yes, it is up to us as the passenger to find out but finding out is not so easy.....our return, AKL to LAX to LAS, the ANZ agent swore we would earn UA miles.....I will let you know in 4 weeks...
