On another note, when arriving, how is the process going through customs? I found it fairly painless when going through T2. I'll be on the flight from LAX which arrives around 1830L. Is that a bad time to arrive at T1 on a Thursday?

Yes the MU lounge is better, it's by gate 21. Note you'll have to walk past the podium for Gate 21, and take the escalator down a level, just like if you were boarding a flight. If you don't realize all the MU lounges are down by the actual jetbridge doors you'll be confused where the lounges are at. MU operates about 3 or 4 small lounges on this level, and normally funnels passengers on DL flights into the one by gate 21.
