I have a trip to PVG coming up in the beginning of November and I'm really glad the OP posted this. I had no idea DL switched from T2 to T1. Based on what I've read I've come to the conclusion that one should plan on waiting for luggage at the bag claim when arriving, allow plenty of time when checking in for the departure, and use the MU lounge instead of the VIP lounge. The MU lounge is near gate 21, yes?

On another note, when arriving, how is the process going through customs? I found it fairly painless when going through T2. I'll be on the flight from LAX which arrives around 1830L. Is that a bad time to arrive at T1 on a Thursday?
