I think if you book knowing that they were undergoing renovations (and the banner is there on their website), I don't think it would be right to invoke any "satisfaction guarantee" (if they had one).

If you booked before this decision was made and you were NOT notified (and how many people check the website again before they stay but after they book?) then I think that would be a valid complaint.

And yes, I'm looking at it from the consumer's viewpoint (because that's what I am) - if I have to put up with noise and dust, then I want a bargain price.
