Called in last week for Chase United Explorer. Was told if I wait until my Statement closes it would be better for me so I can earn the miles I had accumulated. To me that sounded like no offer so I said OK and hung up. Called back today after my statement and got the spheel about all the benefits of the card and said I am aware but still want to cancel. Then she brought up I had spent 21k and I am so close to getting a 10k bonus after 25k spend. I said I know but not interested. Then she offered me the $100 took it and kept card open (didn't really intend to cancel anyways). This will be my 3rd year with the card. 1st year free intro offer, 2nd year no offer and paid the fee.
