Other than with extra fuel tanks, ferrying with many stops (that's how aircraft in WW-II were delivered to the European and Pacific TOs as are light planes today), a/c devoid of pax, freight and interiors can fly a long way. While not short-haul a/c, I think Air Seychelles brought back a 767-200 from Seattle to Seychelles non-stop. QF did that LHR-SYD non-stop trip, and MH did the 777 trip SEA-KUL-SEA to break a world record.
