However, in my travels in SE Asia (where I am right now), I have the impression that the visa requirements are generally similar for Canadians and Americans. For example, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma require visas for Americans, where Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, for example, do not. All countries here require a passport with, in general, some validity remaining (typically around 6 months) before expiration.
