The other thing to note is that the daily withdrawal limit is for a day defined as midnight to midnight in your home time zone.

Midnight in Minneapolis, where my bank is based, is 2:00PM in Japan in the summer and 3:00PM in the winter, so while I'm in Japan, I can't make one large withdrawal in the morning Japan time and another in the evening Japan time. I have to wait till the next afternoon.
