Of course it's relevant. Eating out and buying furniture are not comparable. Everyone eats every day, many of us eat out at least once a week, and almost everyone eats out at least once a month. How many people buy furniture once a month? Very few, which means it is not unusual for someone to ask for furniture store recommendations in a city that person actually lives in. Therefore, where one lives is not relevant to where one is looking to buy furniture.

Another way to look at this is to say that part of travelling includes eating out and visiting museums, parks, etc., but does not normally include buying furniture.

I'm not trying to be picky. Initially I ignored this post (I wasn't the first one to point out that this topic is in the wrong forum). The reason I jumped in was because I saw people defending its current placement, that, if applied to all posts, would result in General TravelTalk and OMNI being indistinguishable.

FlyerTalk gets a very large number of posts, and one way to keep it from falling apart is to ensure topics are put in the right forum.
