OK, this is a sore point with most of us.
I just spent 5 nights at the (Hilton) Waldorf Astoria and collapsed when I checked out, over the phone bill.
They charge there
$1.75 plus tax for all "local" calls and $1 plus tax for all 800 calls. (Both of these were all time restricted as well.) At 2 bucks darn near per local call it really runs up, as I made or returned about 40 calls to FT'ers at local hotels, and to NY city based clients/colleagues etc.
Any Hotel FT'ers have used run any more than $1.75 a local call? Hotel phone charges are just getting silly. Same hotel charged a flat 80c plus tax a MINUTE ('min charge $5') for internet access in business center, which is about $55 an hour.
