Have you had an look into the Cook Islands?
Funny, years ago we were in Fiji and were hanging out with a young newly married Australian couple our age...they were opining on how Fiji was such a cheap and ho-hum destination from Oz- that they really wanted to go to Hawaii for a unique vacation trip.

Go figure.
