I opened a CitiGold account last week over the phone using the promo code and funded it with a citi card. I received a call afterwards stating that I'm not eligible as I already have a Citi checking account.

I called in to see if there was anything I can do and was told the terms clearly exclude Citi checking account customers and is only targeted towards Citi card holders without a checking account.

One agent suggested I open a new account with a new username.

Has anyone with an existing Citi checking account been able to receive the bonus?
