Here's the scenario.

Return ticket from Canada to Europe is $800 + $800.

One way ticket to Europe in November is $1400.
One way ticket return from Europe in Dec is $3000.

So it is cheaper to book a return ticket, even if I only want to use the one way.

Can I book the return ticket, use half of it, and get credit for the other half? This way I avoid the 'one way premium' of thousand plus dollars?
