Doesn't DL impose hefty surcharges for one-way awards that originate in Europe?
Yes, but it would still be the best flight experience. DL is also likely to demand a lot of miles for the NCE-JFK flight as this is a very high yield route, although OP seems to be traveling during shoulder season.
