I agree with your observation that SW is the most efficient way to get around California. Commercially. For someone with Carly Fiorina's net worth and hence presumed value of her time, though, flying privately is virtually a no-brainer for optimizing time-vs.-money value. The fact that she flies commercially shows there's another factor in her decision. I'd say it's free publicity. Everytime she flies commercially it's a potential photo-op that could generate free local media coverage.
