Well, I'll be staying there for 4 days, 2 weeks before Christmas. So there will be shopping involved. I'll probably will want to visit both sides of the city because, like you guys say, the main shopping part is at Kurfurstendam and the bigger part of the historical stuff is in the east. I've heard about the Berlin Zoo that it's a very good one so maybe it's to combine with the kurfurstendam in one day, also together with the bombed church.

So Alex71, you say that the best restaurants are around Kurfurstendam? Cause maybe it's easier then to stay at the west side so one can go eat in the evening close to the hotel (although I like a late evening walk). Cause I suppose public transport isn't frequently available late in the evening to get accros town.
