Not entirely true.
People in the GE/Nexus CATSA line at YVR transborder do not have to remove their shoes or light jackets and their liquids can remain in their bags. Laptops must still come out, however. Non-GE/Nexus have to remove shoes and liquids, and jackets come off.

This must be a recent change. Previously, you had to present your GE card to get to use the line.
