I was wondering what you guys think where it's best to stay in Berlin, cause I'm travelling to Berlin in the near future.

My opinion is that the area from the Tor to Alexanderplatz in the East is the most historically interesting and tons of things to do and visit

In the area around Kurfurstendam there are seemingly fewer things to do and the hotel seem to be less expensive (or am I wrong about that)

So what is the best region to stay when visiting Berlin in comparing hotel prices and things to do. East or west?
