Spent two nights at the Miyako Sheraton last week - quite a letdown in terms of "upgrade" I was "upgraded" to the room type I booked... As I'm not too keen arguing with the Japanese with all the culture and linguistic barriers, so I just put a note to self - don't come back here.

On a brighter note, the new club should be opening this week (and the breakfast options in both lobby restaurants + the drinks in the lobby bar will go away at the same time)

I don't really understand the relationship between the two chains (Starwood & Miyako) - Japan is a strange place There seem to be similar arrangement e.g between the Marriot and Asocia chains (e.g in Nagoya) and AFAIK some ICs operate like this.
