Ok...I am ready to chime in with questions and comments:
I have used the BOSE on AA BOS-SFO in P and thought they were great in terms of effectiveness and comfort.

I would give them a B+ and not an A for sound quality.
As may be the case with all of them...I sometimes like to crank up the music and am surprised on the limit at top levels...but c'est la vie.
As for comfort, however, for me they are quite comfortable when sitting up to watch a movie. But not for sleeping, unless you like to sleep on your back (and I sleep on my side).
I also like to try to fall asleep while listening to music or a movie...falling alseep midstream...that's me...and I can't imagine being able to do this with the big bulky BOSE headsets on.
Size/portability with the BOSE are another negative. I am already carring around soooo many appliances & chargers (I currently need 5 chargers: phone, laptop std, laptop plane, Palm V, and Omnisky), so space in my soft sided Tumi briefcase is already at a premium.
It's funny, after reading the write-ups on e-pinions on the Sony, however, they sounded terrible compared to the Bose.
But I guess for me, if I want to sleep on one side...the ability to unplug my down ear and fall asleep, together with the portabality advanatge, makes the Sony's sound like the way to go..sacrificing possible sound quality and sitting comfort.
Now I have no idea about those Finnair headphones (I went to see if there was any picture of them on the Finnair site...but nooo, not even a picture of a business class seat???).
I guess I'll ask my brother to pick me up a pair at Narita...unless the Sony outlet prices here are comparable?
