Since there isn't a thread for Le Meridien Hotels, I figured that this would be the best alternative forum to pose my question?

I am currently scheduled to attend a two day meeting at the Le Meridien Hotel in Lisbon Portugal. The Le Meriden web site must have a IBM 286 pc hooked up to a 28.8 modem acting as the server because I have yet to be able to connect and so any real site surfing.

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Just my luck, the Le Meridien is not affiliated with any of the three chains that I have elite status with (Marriott Silver, Hilton Gold, soon to be Starwood Platinum).

What price did you pay? For the two nights of the conference, the company has booked a group rate. However, when I checked on additonal nights, the price was well beyond what I would expect to pay (upwards around $350/night!!!).

Any tip and/or suggestions that I should know about? Things to do around the area? Places to avoid? Must see and/or do activities?
