Whilst I disagree with the OP's posit, I think they are arguing along the lines of (as an example) "$YYY for a J-bed on YY carrier is less value per dollar than $XXX for a Y-seat on XX-carrier", when you look at what you are getting compared to what you have spent.
Sort of like "If you don't need to be totally functional upon arrival, saving $3K on the airfare to fly in WHY as opposed to J means you can spend $200 at the departure airport to substitute for the lounge offerings, - assuming no status-based access - and then $400 on a hotel room on arrival to recover, means that you are still $2400 ahead, the only downside is having to suffer 10+hours in WHY".
So it is not the difference between the cabins, but the value of what you get in each cabin compared to what you have paid for that cabin.
