Despite protestations from the contrary on the Air France forum, I think you will be happy with the service. You may want to fly a different carrier from US-Paris though.

The only real beef with AF (besides the occasional strike) is their ground agent's snootiness. On board, I have had a pleasant enough experience, just hate the seat pitch in economy. I fly "regularly" to Cameroon and Air France gives the best connections for me from Canada (2 hour layover with gates side by side for my arriving and departing flight).

I would recommend flying Delta or Air France from US as they both arrive in the same terminal if your connection is tight, otherwise airport transport is free and good and easy (though sometimes time consuming) to get from one Terminal to the next.
