I would concur that budget airlines have upped their game of late so it's interested that BA are perceived to be lowering their standards!

The thing that plays a big part for me is convenience and LHR is a short bus ride for me. No parking, no huge expense to get there and it takes no time at all. Yesterday I booked a flight to OSL for next weekend and much as I like Norwegian the £50 saving they would have given me was not enough to tempt me to trudge to and from GTW, give up my breakfast in the lounge etc. I could even pop to LHR the day before and use the self service machine to select my seat on the HBO fare!!

This thread has made.me consider what the cut off point for me.is. If £50 isn't enough if a saving maybe £100 would be.
