Ok ok I'll prefix this rant with "I know it's a first world problem".
T5 GF lounge food sucks, it's dirty, old, and the staff are neither friendly or welcoming.
On a recent trip I moved to galleries and felt much more welcomed with better facilities.
The showers are mouldy, dirty cramped and falling apart.
The showers are an odd affair, that's true.
But the First lounge is perfectly comfortable. The food is fine, if inevitably a bit boring for frequent visitors. If you tire of champagne there's lots of other refreshments.
The Galleries lounge is good, too; but certainly no better than the First one.
Both can get crowded
