When vacationing in Hawaii for 2 months, any advice on how to get a discount for a long term car rental?

Last time, I reserved with Costco/USAA/Other sites as soon as available and checked back frequently and re-booked whenever rates dropped. Still paid quite a bit of money - it was not cheap.

I did learn one lesson -probably best to book for one month per reservation because credit card Collision Damage coverage is limited to only one month. So best to switch out to another car with a new credit card.
