Anyone know the ins/outs of the Citi ThankYouŽ Preferred Card for College Students? Didn't find a thread about this card with a wiki.

What type of proof do they require that you are a student? (a simple .edu email or something more involved?)

How easily does Citi let you switch products? I.e., Can I switch the Premier card to the Preferred college student version to avoid the AF?

What happens to this card when I'm no longer a student? I graduate this year. Can i keep it indefinitely? (obviously I don't want to cancel).

Will holding this card keep my TY rewards account active and able to transfer pts to partners if its my only Citi TY card?

My thinking -> sign up for Citi Premier 50k bonus. After ~6mo, switch product to college version to maintain my TY rewards account and keep the card indefinitely. (and in 24mo sign up for the Premier again... and sign up for the regular Preferred at a different time for the 20k bonus). Think this would work?

Obviously signing up for the college Preferred card isn't worth a HP... but if i can switch an existing card to the college card, I'd avoid closing a card.
