If you're a Verizon customer, you can add a Canada and Mexico plan, set it to begin tomorrow, and remove it the day you return. They will prorate the cost, which can make this very inexpensive.
The Mexico & Canada Talk, Text & Data package is on promotion for just $5/month. It provides 100 minutes, 100 sent texts, and 100 MB of data. I got that plan for my wife's phone and the $25/month 500/500/1GB plan for my phone. Over two weeks, my wife used more than the 100 MB limit, which added another $10 to the bill.
In the end, my two weeks in Canada added $12.10 to our bill for my phone and $12.42 for hers, so I'd recommend getting the 500/500/1GB plan. Just be sure to remove it as soon as you re-enter the US.
