When you go to MMB look whether the flight is listed as 'confirmed' or 'information only'. Manage a specific flight in the PNR where it is listed as 'confirmed'.
... I have 1 AA PNR and 2 BA PNRs for the LHR-FCO sector; each allows me to choose a seat, and each shows the seat selected by the other PNR as vacant.
