Check out Alitalia, sometimes they may surprise you. The AF code shares are more expensive than the Alitalia flights.

The train is surprising comfortable and saves you a night in a hotel. Are you traveling with someone else? If so, it maybe cheaper to get a companion train pass (europass) and you would get a few more days of first class train travel along with your trip to paris.

The down side of this is August. Not the best time to travel by train-very crowded and not airconditioned, but at least you may see some pretty countryside as you approach into Paris.
