As of today, it turns out that one cannot help themselves to the goodies in the JFK EK lounge. One has to ASK one of the attendants for cold food (cheese, the famous mezze, cake, butter). That is is convenient.

I am sure the fine inspectors at the Port Authority had nothing better to do with their lives than control how food is served in the lounge of one of the best airlines in the world.
