The winner is Turkey consuming 7.54kg per capita, Ireland is third on 3.22kg, and the UK fifth on 2.74kg, but like with all of these statistics the figures are nonsense. There will be hugely variable results if the group of people surveyed in Britain was based in cosmopolitan London where everyone is on the go compared to the North where people watch daytime TV. Secondly, there is variation over what is tea. In Turkey they tend to classify tea as a drink with hot water with some flavouring in. You could probably pass a Lemsip off as tea.
However, where the UK falls in the world ranking is irrelevant. Coffee needs to be eliminated; it's ghastly stuff.
