LGB? LGB is a 100'x200' box from 1941. True, the terminal has a certain je ne sais quoi. It has a sentimental quality that harkens back to a time when commercial flying was a new and exciting experience. But I submit these qualities can be found in greater abundance in places like the original Marine Air Terminal (LGA) and DCA. If small boxes are your 'thing', and as a Modernist they are for me, then check out the new terminal at Graz!
Oh...my vote? for large, planetary scale airports, it has to be MCO. For medium sized airports, MCI. If you know which gate you are departing from there are none in the world that are easier to use (DFW blew this concept by making the distance from the jetway to the parking too great). As for small airports, see above.
