At least 99 percent of the time, the agent smiles back at me, says something pleasant like, "Oh, you've done this before, I see," and hands me my boarding pass. Once in a great while, the agent -- particularly Delta agents at DCA -- insists that the airline has to ASK the security questions.
I get that response most of the time when I say "Packed my own, been with me all the time, nobody gave me anything." I have had the most problems in PHL where I was told that the agent had the right to ask me the question slightly differently just to make sure I was paying attention ...
I was made to answer questions for TW in JAN but nowhere else. UA and AA didn't even ask questions the last few times I flew them ... but I don't fly them often.
