Would you try this 35 min connection in SEA?

Greetings...I am flying back from CVG to RDM Oregon. I have to leave CVG after 7 pm and am trying to get back to RDM as early as possible. The only thing I can find goes CVG to SLC getting in at 10pm....catching a few hours sleep and getting on a 6 am flight to SEA arriving at 7:35 I then can try to catch an 8:00am flight to RDM(on Alaska/Horizon). This is an "illegal" connection and Delta won't book it for me. I of course can book 2 separate tickets....buying the Alaska ticket separately. I won't check any bags and will sit near the front. I know SEA well and even if taking the tram would make it if we get in on time. Don't know Alaska's policy if I miss this flight. Or....sleep in and just go CVG-SLC-RDM getting in 3 hours later? Any other ideas?? Thanks
