If you are an EXP and can see one F award, I would CALL the exp desk and see if they can clear the second F seat with 'expanded availability'. Should be a very good chance.
If just booking without EXP status (or if the trick doesnt work) I would book one F and one J and try to clear the other F later. I am sure you can trade the person next to the loved one for their J seat to take your F. Taking 2 J and hoping 2 F open is more than twice the difficulty/risk IMO
