What would one need to get from the OC area (so either LAX or SNA) to DFW and back. American Airlines is not an option because of their weird UM policy. UA has some options:

1) LAX to DFW direct in a regional jet. I've flown United many times but I've never been on United Express. How is it?!

2) SNA to DFW via IAH has mainline aircraft, but adds two hours to my travel time. However, I am much closer to SNA than I am LAX.

3) Use Southwest to go from SNA to DFW, but at a time I don't prefer at all.

AA won't work because they do not allow minors to fly alone until 15. Should I still call and ask?
