For what it's worth, I've been transferred to Hilton Vacations, via the reservations department, when I have rung in on a couple of occasions.

When I've tried to explain that I live in the UK and that it's of no use to me, they still try to sell things to me, but then work out that they can't. I've been offered two lots of 500 bonus points for listening to their spiel, but have never listened to them.

If only I wasn't British, as my sense of politeness towards people always stands fast! I feel sorry for you guys in the USA though, as these calls can be very tiresome.
