I don't stop to check my connecting gate at the arrival gate. Checking the monitors there usually means blocking the path of other passengers who may also have relatively tight connections. It's far worse when you must talk to an agent with a long paper list of connecting gates.
Instead, in ATL it's almost always better to just walk quickly toward the center of the concourse and look for the big banks of flight information monitors along the way, typically near a customer service center before you reach the escalators to the plane train.
