Sounds similar to the vigorous debate on the Qantas lounge dress code thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...-guesting.html) where it was suggested that access to lounge and premium cabins should be for those who dress like they're visiting a Michelin starred restaurant.

Similar to your dress down in F, I wore shorts on my next couple of visits to the CCR after reading that thread
